Collagraph with Intaglio Printing

Explore this exciting, versatile process, combining collagraph, intaglio and carborundum. In the intaglio print process, layered surfaces and incised marks hold the printing ink to give rich textures and tones. Join printmaker Shirley Stevenson to create your own intaglio plates, working with a range of marking tools for mark making, texture, shape and tone, and wet media to give painterly qualities. You will be introduced to different ways of printing your plate and adding colour. You will have time to experiment and be creative, producing a series of prints to take home. This course is suitable for both beginners and those looking to extend their printmaking experience. What will I need to bring? All materials and equipment will be provided. Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. No sandals, heels or open toed shoes. Aprons will be provided. Teas, coffees and biscuits are provided.
