Foundation Travel Health Training

This event will take place Face to Face at Sandal Rugby Club Please note this is a 2 day course - in booking you are commiting to attending both days - 23rd & 24th February 2027, lunch will be provided Foundation Travel Health Training A practical and interactive two-day foundation course for healthcare professionals who are new to travel health, or those looking to build a strong grounding in the principles of safe and effective pre-travel consultations. Across the two days, we’ll work through the travel consultation from start to finish, including travel risk assessment, destination-specific health risks, travel vaccines and schedules, malaria prevention, bite avoidance, food and water safety, sexual health and blood-borne risks, documentation and record keeping, and considerations for complex travellers and special groups. The course combines essential theory with practical scenarios and consultation skills, helping delegates learn how to find and interpret reliable travel health guidance and apply it confidently in everyday practice. By the end of the course, delegates should feel more confident carrying out a thorough travel risk assessment, recognising important travel-related health risks, applying evidence-based vaccine and malaria advice, and providing practical, individualised pre-travel advice. Course content is designed in line with the Royal College of Nursing’s Travel Health Nursing: career and competence development guidance and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow Faculty of Travel Medicine’s Good Practice Guidance for Providing a Travel Health Service Event details will be sent via email in due course to the email address registered when booking When booking, please provide any full dietary requirements.
