Textile Jewellery Workshop

design, weave and stitch your own unique, colourful and textured jewellery and accessories using fabric, yarn, thread, fibre, beads etc. Use a variety of crafts to make textile-based jewellery and other small items. These crafts include weaving, sewing, cordage, plaiting, coiling, braiding etc., to make a bracelet, pendant, hair clip, key fob, ring, brooch, earrings, bookmark, necklace and/or mobile, these will generally be small intricate pieces. Weave small squares and circles on small frame looms to make pendants or brooches and use cordage, plaits or braided strong lengths for bracelets and necklaces. Using colourful fabric, yarn, thread, raffia, fibre, shells, feathers and beads, design and experiment with shape, texture and colour to create personalised jewellery of your choice. Metal findings will be provided to complete your pieces. Depending on your choices you may need to complete your jewellery at home. All equipment and materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own yarn, fabric, materials and threads to add to and personalise your work. Refreshments will be provided, please bring your own lunch.
