Indie Book Festival, Aylesbury

A one-day twice-a-year (non-profit) gathering for book lovers to meet new-to-them indie authors. Audience tickets available: just £15 (plus EventBrite booking fee of £1.96) for the whole day. There are limited spaces so please book in advance to avoid disappointment on the day. Thank you! Sunday 4th October 2026 timetable 9am: The festival reception opens 9.40am: Welcome/housekeeping 9.45am: Dawn the Poet poetry performance 10am: Editing panel 11.30am: Cover design, illustrations and book formatting panel 12.30pm: Lunch break 1.15pm: David Wake's book launch 1.30pm: What Else Do You Need? panel 3pm: Publishing panel 4.30pm: Marketing panel 5.30pm: Festival close but do network and buy books! Each panel session will last 60 minutes (including audience Q&A) with a 30-minute break for book signings, refreshments etc. There will be a marketing table for guest authors to leave marketing materials (bookmarks, A5 flyers). Please contact [email protected] if you wish to include your material. Unfortunately only books by panel authors can be sold in the bookshop. PLEASE NOTE: this is not a fair-type event where the authors pay for a stall. They do not pay to attend. They are infact offered a free +1 ticket and receive 100% of their book sales. When not on a panel, they are free to sit in the audience during panels then network during the breaks. * There is a free car park on site but you MUST register your car upon arrival to avoid a fine. Attendees are allowed to bring a water bottle but other refreshments to be consumed on site must be purchased from the hotel. This can be booked in advance. You are welcome to bring lunch with you but this must be eaten off site. There is a nearby parade of shops: Janel Square, HP21 7ET. Tickets are £15 (+ £1.96 Eventbrite fee) for the entire day. You are welcome to attend any or all events. Please arrive at least half an hour before your event is due to start to avoid any disruption. Thank you. This is a non-profit event. ALL of all profits will be going to three local book-related charities (BeaconLit festival, Calibre Audio, Haddenham Community Library). Costs include: venue hire, marketing materials and expenses, one-off equipment costs, optional author +1 ticket. The 'staff' are entirely volunteers with no one taking a wage. As this is a non-profit event, there are no refunds but tickets are transferrable by contacting the organiser, Morgen Bailey (via email: [email protected]), with the name of the new ticket holder, no later than two days before the event.
