Southend's Skies: Secrets of the Solar System

Uncover the secrets of the solar system with Rob and Dawid! Join astrophotographer Dawid Glawdzin, and theoretical physicist Rob Clemenson on a voyage of cosmic discovery. Journey with us from the Beecroft Art Gallery into the darkest corners of the cosmos, in our six part lecture series: Southend's Skies: Postcards from the Cosmos. In the fourth of these fortnightly lectures, we will cast our gaze outwards from the Earth, and discover the secrets of our Solar System. Using Dawid's incredible images we will introduce you to comets, asteroids, and the various planets and many moons of our solar system; as seen over Southend's skies! Rob will introduce the audience to the science behind Dawid's incredible images, and Dawid will discuss how the images were taken, and give some expert tips on getting started in astrophotography. This talk is accessible for ages 10+. Older children and adults will enjoy this talk, children younger than 10 are welcome, but some may struggle with understanding the content. This lecture series is organised by Science-on-Sea CIC (17423429), in partnership with Southend Museums.
