Zine & Collage Workshop by Kent Queer Creatives

The workshop will start with a short introduction to the queer history of zines & collage and we'll show you some cool examples, tips and techniques to get you started and inspired. The rest of the session will be social and relaxed - everyone can work on their own creations, experiment, chat and make things together. Creativity is our shared interest and not a barrier to entry. If you don't yet call yourself 'a creative' but you feel drawn to creative spaces, you’re welcome here. Creativity is play and we love 'bad art'. ✫ What to bring ✫ All supplies provided :) Bring along any extra materials you'd like to use if you have a particular idea or theme for your collage or zine. ✫ Location ✫ Creative Maidstone 2–4 Granada House, Gabriel's Hill, Maidstone ME15 6JR 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm Getting there by bus: Creative Maidstone is approx 5 min walk from Maidstone Bus Station. Getting there by train: The venue is in between Maidstone East (approx. 9 minute walk from the station) and Maidstone West (approx. 12 minute walk). ✫ Accessibility ✫ Access needs aren't an inconvenience and we always try to choose our venues with accessibility in mind. Creative Maidstone is a step-free venue with: • a set of double doors • air conditioning throughout the venue • a disabled toilet The venue is situated at the bottom of Gabriel's Hill. If you're unable to walk down this steep hill, you can still access the venue via the lifts in The Mall shopping centre. Take the lift next to Franco's Café on Level 2, go down to Level 1, and exit via the Gabriel's Hill exit.
