Sapphic Cinema - "Set It Off" & live performance

Abi Asisa and Theareship present a night of Sapphic Cinema, screening "Set it off" paired with a live performance. Theatreship and Abi Asisa present Sapphic Cinema, an event dedicated to highlighting FLINTA (femme, lesbian, intersex, nonbinary, trans, asexual) stories within queer cinema plus live performance. For this event, we will be screening Set it off with a live performance to be announced shortly. Set It Off (1996) Director: F. Gary Gray Age Rating: 15 Four women in Los Angeles turn to bank robbery after financial difficulties and limited opportunities leave them struggling to support themselves. What starts as a way to gain some financial stability gradually becomes more complicated, putting pressure on their friendship and relationships. Set It Off explores friendship, loyalty and survival through the experiences of four women navigating financial insecurity and a lack of opportunity within a crime drama framework. ________________ The venue opens at 4pm for drinks in the bar. Everyone is welcome to come early and enjoy the space, however we recommend arriving for the event at 6pm at the latest to settle in and get your seats. Theatreship is committed to broadening access to the arts - we know that ticket price is a huge barrier for some.
