Meet Our Guest Speaker: Katherine Mortimer Breaking Barriers, Challenging Expectations and Making Her Mark in Football We're absolutely delighted to welcome Katherine Mortimer, Club Secretary and Operations Manager of Flixton Football Club, as our November guest speaker. Katherine is one of those brilliant women who isn't afraid to roll up her sleeves, challenge expectations and get things done! At the heart of Flixton Football Club's ambitious revival following a 13-year absence from competitive football, Katherine has played a pivotal role in bringing the club back to life. And we're not talking about a small project! She's been instrumental in a multimillion-pound redevelopment, helping to transform the club's future while managing everything from stadium operations, commercial development and finances to staffing, business relationships and the daily challenges of running a football club. All within an industry that has traditionally been dominated by men. But Katherine isn't simply helping to rebuild a football club. She's helping to change perceptions about the role women can play in the game, both on and off the pitch. With her infectious enthusiasm, determination, hands-on leadership style and genuine passion for her community, Katherine is proving that ambition, resilience and hard work can open doors in even the most unexpected places. We'll be chatting to Katherine about her journey, the challenges she's faced, what it takes to be part of such an ambitious project, how she manages the many demands of her role and why she's so passionate about encouraging more women into football. You don't need to know a thing about football to enjoy Katherine's story!
