Join us and Silva for an early morning hike in the Peak District as we head out before dawn to catch the sunrise from one of the National Park's most iconic landscapes. This guided community hike will take in The Roaches & Lud's Church Circular, combining spectacular sunrise views with practical navigation tips and advice for staying safe when hiking in low-light conditions. Along the route, the Silva team will share insights into head torch use, navigation fundamentals and confidence-building techniques for extending your adventures into the darker months. Whether you're looking to build your outdoor skills or simply enjoy a memorable sunrise alongside like-minded hikers, this is the perfect way to welcome the season. Event Details 📍 The Roaches & Lud's Church Circular, Peak District 📅 Saturday 31st October ⏰ 6:00am meet / 6:30am departure 🥾 12.6km route ⛰️ 401m elevation gain Parking is available in roadside lay-bys close to the meeting point, so please allow a little extra time to find a suitable space and walk to the start location. Meeting point (what3words): ///physical.spans.rocks What's Included With Your Ticket As part of the event, every participant will receive: • A Silva head torch • A Silva compass • Coffee and pastries from Primus • Guidance and navigation tips from the Silva team throughout the hike What To Bring • Suitable outdoor clothing for autumn conditions • Walking boots or trail shoes with good grip • Waterproof jacket • Water and any additional snacks • A small backpack for personal items Important Information This route covers approximately 12.6km with 401m of ascent and is suitable for those with a reasonable level of fitness and experience of countryside walking. The event will begin in darkness, and participants should be prepared for uneven terrain and changeable weather conditions.
