Crewe Film Society: Do The Right Thing

In a Brooklyn neighbourhood, the long-simmering racial tensions between diverse communities erupt into brutal violence. £5, BYO snacks and cushion! What's the story? This film looks at life in the Bedford-Stuyvesant district of Brooklyn on a hot summer Sunday. As he does everyday, Sal Fragione opens the pizza parlor he's owned for 25 years. What begins as a simple complaint by one of his customers, Buggin Out - who wonders why he has only pictures of famous Italian-Americans on the wall when most of his customers are black - eventually disintegrates into violence as frustration seemingly brings out the worst in everyone Getting here: Crewe is a major rail hub and PLATFORM is a short walk from the station and town-centre bus routes. Please come by train, bus, bike or on foot where you can. Good to know: Doors open 30 minutes before the film. Please arrive in good time to grab a seat. Help us keep the season going: A 30-second audience survey at each screening helps us stay funded. Scan the QR code at the venue or follow the link we email you. This project is supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network.
