The VAST Volunteer Voices Forum is a friendly peer support and engagement space for volunteers across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire It provides an opportunity for volunteers to share their experiences, offer valuable insights, and help shape the future of volunteering in our local communities. At VAST, we are committed to championing safe, inclusive, and meaningful volunteering opportunities. The forum ensures that volunteers' voices are heard and play an active role in influencing local volunteering practice and development. Upcoming Meeting Tuesday 8th December, 10:00am - 12:00pm The Dudson Centre, Hanley This month's session will explore the theme of giving and receiving in volunteering. Together, we'll discuss how achieving a healthy balance between the two can support volunteer wellbeing, prevent burnout, and create more positive volunteering experiences for everyone involved. We'll also take some time to celebrate the festive season with a relaxed and creative Christmas card-making activity. Who Can Join? The forum is open to all volunteers, regardless of the organisation they volunteer with or the role they undertake. We actively encourage participation from people with a wide range of experiences, backgrounds, and interests to ensure diverse perspectives are represented. What's Involved? By joining the forum, you can: • Share feedback and perspectives on key volunteering topics such as recruitment, training, support, recognition, and volunteer resources. • Raise awareness and understanding of issues affecting volunteers and volunteering. • Build connections and strengthen collaboration between voluntary, community, public, and statutory sector organisations. • Learn about upcoming volunteer initiatives and projects taking place across the local area. • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the volunteer experience and help volunteering thrive across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.
