I love this definition from Artists&Illustrators: “Life drawing classes are the artistic equivalent of going to the gym. You are not here to produce a masterpiece but rather the exercise your hand-eye co-ordination and improve your ability to create a convincing likeness quickly.” (https://www.artistsandillustrators.co.uk/how-to/portraits-figurative/a-guide-to-life-drawing-classes) Personally, I like life drawing sessions not to be focused on any intention of creating a “masterpiece” - my aim for you all is to have some time to slow down, take time for you, get creative and have fun! I don’t think there should really be a “right” way of doing it - and I’m no teacher, hence me calling them sessions, not classes.. 🫶🏼✨ We normally do a range of poses, with a break around 8pm, starting back with some very quick poses, finishing on a longer one to really work in some detail. ☕️ Some herbal teas provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own drink too. 🖌️ Bring your own materials - though I will bring some for those that don’t have any, or would like to try something new ✨ 💸 Payment options available: • £10 + fees - space for yourself • “Pay it forward” - where you can pay more if you are able, towards someone else’s spot • “Pay what can” - if you’re on low income We really don’t want finances to be a barrier for the arts, so please get in touch if you’re interested in either of these second two options 🙏🏼
