Women Out There November Walk – Foel Fynyddau & Afan Valley

For our second Women Out There community hike, we’re heading to the beautiful Afan Valley! Join Women Out There for a November hike through the Afan Valley, climbing Foel Fynyddau (370m) for hilltop views and stopping at Bethel Chapel Café in Pontrhydyfen for coffee, cake and a good chat. Expect woodland trails, a climb to warm us up and a chance to meet some lovely like-minded women along the way. Come solo or bring a friend. If you’re coming on your own and feeling a little nervous, I promise you won’t be the only one! That’s why Women Out There exists 💚 We’ll walk together at a sociable pace, with breaks to catch our breath, take in the views and get to know each other. No pressure to be the fastest or have all the fancy gear. •Date and time: Saturday 28 November 2026, starting at 10 am. • Meeting point: Rhyslyn Car Park, Afan Forest Park. (It's free parking!) • Distance: Approximately 8 miles with around 380 m of ascent. • Terrain: Moderate, with uphill sections, uneven woodland paths and potentially muddy or slippery ground. You should feel comfortable walking this distance over hilly terrain. • Duration: Allow around four hours, including our café stop, finishing at approximately 2 pm. The walk is completely free; just pay for your own café buys. Please book a spot so I know who’s joining us. If you can’t make it, cancel your ticket so someone else can come along. It’s about getting outside, trying new things and finding your people along the way. From local walks to weekends away, we’re bringing women together for fresh air and a bit of adventure. You don’t need to be super outdoorsy or know anyone already. Come solo or with a friend; we’d love to have you along. A note on our community walks Free WOT community walks are hosted by Jules, who has completed Mountain Leader training and is working towards assessment. Jules is not yet a qualified Mountain Leader. Events led by qualified guides will be clearly identified. Outdoor activities involve risks, including uneven ground and changing weather. Please read each event’s details, make sure it suits your health, fitness and ability, and bring suitable clothing and footwear. You’re responsible for your own transport and belongings. Routes may change, or events may be cancelled if conditions are unsuitable.
