This breakfast event will be breaking down everything developers, planners, architects and ecologists need to know about BNG in your area. Two years since Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) came into effect and it’s already delivering on its promise – driving vital nature recovery without obstructing essential development. BNG is now helping unlock the projects needed to meet the UK's ambitious development targets, including building 1.5 million new homes, and seeing our valuable habitats restored. Join us for our latest breakfast event where we'll be sharing everything you need to know about BNG in your area. Learn about the recent consultation response and what that means for the policy. We've carefully selected speakers with local expertise to offer guidance on the planning, ecology, and legal aspects of BNG policy, along with everything they have learnt over the past year. They'll be there to give an overview of BNG, explain its requirements, and set out the most effective options for BNG delivery available near you. We’ll also be giving an exclusive virtual tour of our Chippenham Habitat Bank – a live and registered BNG site that’s already generating off-site Biodiversity Units and helping to unlock development projects nearby. Speakers Harvey Davies; Head of Natural Capital, Thrings Harvey Davies is one of the UK’s leading lawyers in Natural Capital, having dedicated his legal practice to innovative environmental schemes that provide substantial long-term benefits across the country. His work covers a range of schemes including nutrient neutrality, biodiversity net gain, soil and woodland carbon, landscape recovery and voluntary nature and ESG. As well as being a practicing lawyer, recognised in both the prestigious Environment 100 and ENDS Power List, Harvey also manages his family farm in Herefordshire, using his unique practical and commercial experience in the rural sector to advise farmers and landowners nationwide on the delivery of some of the most significant, innovative and profitable natural capital schemes in the country. Lloyd Collins; Strategic Account Director, Environment Bank Lloyd works with developers and strategic clients to help them navigate Biodiversity Net Gain and secure off-site Biodiversity Units. Previously a chartered town planner, Lloyd brings a wealth of experience and understanding of BNG legislation, advising developers on how to navigate BNG for their projects. Matthew Dodds; Senior Ecologist, Environment Bank Matthew is a Senior Ecologist at Environment Bank with extensive experience in Biodiversity Net Gain and habitat restoration across both terrestrial and freshwater environments. He specialises in ecological assessments, habitat management and delivering Biodiversity Net Gain projects from inception through to long-term management.
