Farmers and their animals: a photo exhibition

Join us for our one-day photo exhibition at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU). This photo exhibition, by Jonny Barratt of Swivel Photography, tells the story of the deep connection local farmers have with their livestock and how they protect and enhance farm animal welfare. The exhibition will also feature: • keynote speakers in the fields of animal and livestock farming, discussing advances in science and practice - Positive welfare in the dairy and poultry sector with Dr Katharina Watson, Senior Lecturer in Animal Science at the Royal Agricultural University - Farmer wellbeing and animal welfare with Dr Laura Palczynski, Postdoctoral Research Associate at Harper Adams University - Virtual fencing and welfare implications with Iris McCormick, Lecturer in Sustainable Agriculture at the Royal Agricultural University - Environmental sustainability and animal welfare - challenging the trade-off narrative with Dr Mukhtar Muhammad, Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Royal Agricultural University • farmers forum where you will have the opportunity to hear from local farmers and ask them questions Chaired by Dr Lisa Morgans, Senior Lecturer in Animal Health and Welfare at the Royal Agricultural University, we look forward to welcoming: - Harry Samuel of Ampney Brook Farm - Jess Vaughan of Jess's Ladies Organic Farm Milk - Naomi Oakley of Challacombe Farm - Silas Hedley-Lawrence of Grassfed Farmer • a drinks reception Refreshments will be available to purchase from midday, including regenerative smash burgers from the Cotswold Cattle Company. Cotswold Cattle Company will also be offering a half price discount on its burgers to current students. The drinks reception is included in your free of charge ticket.
