Come along to the Rooted Community garden monthly meet up with your kids for a free session making bird feeders and bird boxes to take home Make Bird Feeders & Bird Boxes Free with Rooted Chippenham Join us with your kids at the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre on October 3rd, 2026 at 10:00 AM for a fun, hands-on event! Learn how to make your own bird feeders ready to use at the end of the month as per RSPB guidance. It's a great chance to get creative, meet fellow nature lovers, and support Rooted Chippenham's mission. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm! We also have 20 free bird box and bug hotel kits making kits donated by Wiltshire Scrapstore – only one kit per family. We will provide free soup, cake, tea and coffee to share. We can accommodate making around 20 feeders, so please book a ticket per feeder - i.e. if you have 3 kids who all want to make a feeder book 3 tickets - you don't need a ticket for yourself. Children of all ages are welcome, but must be supervised by parents or responsible adults at all times. On site toilets available.
