Full description from organizer

Chill out, learn how to meditate, and find your inner peace in this laid-back in-person session. Daily life can feel noisy, fast and full of demands. Even for people who already meditate, it is not always easy to make space to slow down, sit quietly, and reconnect with a deeper sense of steadiness. And for those who are newer to meditation, silence can sometimes feel unfamiliar or even a little daunting at first. This session is an invitation to step out of the usual pace for a while and explore what it means to be present, in a way that feels grounded, gentle and human. This in-person meditation event is open to all levels of experience — from complete beginners to regular meditators, and anyone returning to practice after time away. The focus is not on getting meditation “right” or trying to force a particular experience. Instead, the session offers a simple, supportive space to pause, breathe, and sit with silence in the company of others. Together, we will explore straightforward meditation practices that can help us settle the body, steady the mind, and meet thoughts and feelings with a little more ease. For some, that may mean discovering meditation for the first time. For others, it may be a chance to refresh, deepen, or reconnect with an existing practice. Either way, the emphasis is on gentle participation, not performance. During the session, there will be a calm and spacious flow, including: time to arrive and settle into the space a simple introduction to the practice gentle guidance into meditation periods of silence and stillness space for reflection, questions, or closing thoughts You are welcome to take part at your own pace. You can sit on a chair or on the floor, adjust your posture, and take a break whenever you need to. No special clothing, prior knowledge, or particular beliefs are required. This event may especially resonate with people who feel stretched by the pace of daily life, those curious about silence, people looking for a supportive way into meditation, and experienced practitioners who would value practising in a shared space. David began his meditation journey in 2013 during a two-week retreat in a French monastery, where he lived alongside monks and experienced the rhythm of practice in daily life. He later spent a year living with Theravada Buddhist monks in Sussex, deepening his understanding of silence, simplicity and steady practice. In 2018, he qualified as a meditation teacher, and he continues to maintain a regular personal meditation practice. His approach is warm, practical and down-to-earth, with a particular interest in demystifying silent meditation and making it accessible through the safety and support of group practice. You may wish to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable, whether thats a cushion or blanlet, there are chairs available for those who prefer to be sat on a chair. It is a good idea to arrive a few minutes early to settle in before the session begins. This session is offered as a supportive space for learning meditation and exploring wellbeing. It is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or medical treatment. If you are currently experiencing significant mental health difficulties, please also seek support from a qualified professional.
