About the film DOVBUSH Ukraine, 2023 Feature film 124 minutes Directed by Oles Sanin Set in the Carpathian Mountains in the first half of the 18th century, the film follows Oleksa Dovbush, the legendary leader of the opryshky. His story combines adventure, romance, brotherhood, betrayal and the struggle for freedom against oppression. With spectacular landscapes and large-scale cinematography, Dovbush introduces audiences to the history, traditions and cultural heritage of the Ukrainian Carpathians. At its heart is a timeless question: what price are we willing to pay for the right to be free and determine our own future?
