IMPORTANT: You must work or intend to work within Cornwall to be eligible for this course Skill Bootcamp in Project Management & Leadership in Construction The Skills Bootcamp in Project Management & Leadership in Construction is designed for individuals aged 19+ who are looking to start, return to, or progress their career in construction project management, site management or leadership. It is suitable for people who are new to construction management, those looking to progress into a supervisory or management role, and individuals already working in construction who want to develop their project management, leadership and site-based skills. The course offers a wide range of benefits, providing learners with practical, industry-relevant skills and knowledge to support progression within the construction sector. Participants will develop their understanding of project management, leadership and management principles, quality management, health and safety, and effective site operations. Learners will explore how to plan and manage construction projects effectively, allocate resources, communicate with teams and stakeholders, manage risks and maintain the required standards of quality and safety. The programme also develops learners' ability to lead and motivate teams, communicate effectively, solve problems and make informed decisions within a construction environment. Participants will explore the responsibilities of construction leaders and managers and how effective leadership can contribute to productive, safe and high-performing teams. Practical scenarios will help learners apply project management, quality and safety principles to real-world construction situations, including working at height and managing site hazards. The Skills Bootcamp helps individuals develop practical project management and leadership skills, increase their confidence, explore career progression opportunities and improve their employability, while supporting employers and the wider construction sector to develop skilled leaders and managers capable of effectively managing people, projects and site operations.These courses are designed for employees in organisations of any size who are ready to take the next step in their career. The 12-week Skills Bootcamp in Project Management & Leadership in Construction will focus on the following topics: • Intro and Leadership Vs Management • Leadership Theories, and finding your Leadership Style • Understanding the roles and responsibilities of a site supervisor • Understanding quality management in a site context - including H&S, hazard mitigation, working at heights & PPE • Planning work onsite - workflow and material flow • Trust and Effective Teamwork • Performance Management including conflict and difficult conversations • Project Management - Programme of Works, Management, Logistics & Operations • Prioritising and Time Management • Being an Inclusive Leader • Wellbeing & Workplace Culture • Future Planning for you and the Team About Skills Bootcamps Skills Bootcamps have been created to provide you with the necessary sector-specific skills to enter a new field or to progress in your current role or business. These Skills Bootcamps are free to all learners who are 19+ and reside or work in Cornwall and are funded by the DWP and Cornwall Council.
