Kings Heathens Album Launch

Kings Heathens play through the songs on their new album, Us Old Relics Join us for our album launch at our second home, Top Banana! The digital album will be released on the very same day, but you will also be able to get physical copies direct from us (at a discount if you buy it as part of your ticket for the show!) Who we are Kings Heathens are a duo made up of Evan C Ritchie and David Fisher, who play a combination of traditional and original songs, as well as covers from contemporary folk musicians such as Stan Rogers. Using a mix of guitar, banjo, bouzouki, bodhran and voice, Kings Heathens provide rousing choruses, close harmonies and foot-tapping melodies through their performances of Celtic and transatlantic folk material. Since a chance meeting in Evan C Ritchie’s barber shop in 2022, Fisher and Ritchie, (a busker and a barber by their respective trades, hence the name of their debut EP, Busker & Barber) have been performing gigs locally, including headline slots at the Birmingham Red Lion Folk Club, as well as nationally, becoming firm favourites at festivals such as Cornwall Folk Festival. They have recently started running their own folk club in the heart of Kings Heath, Birmingham - York Road Folk Club, which is on the second Wednesday of every month. Fisher and Ritchie will also both perform a short solo set to open the evening. It may get a little chilly in Top Banana - you are welcome to bring your own blankets if you wish.
