LGBTQ+ Improv | by The Growth House

Join us for a fun, spontaneous class of laughs and queer vibes at LGBTQ+ Improv, come as you are! Get ready for a night full of laughs and good vibes at our in-person LGBTQ+ Improv class! Join fellow queer folks and allies for spontaneous play, fun games, scenes and a welcoming space for you to be fully present. Whether you’re a seasoned improv pro or totally new, this is for you. Come as you are and be part of the magic! You can join in as much or as little as you like, it's less about being funny and more about being present. This is a space to play games, find characters and be in scenarios without the constant hetero bias, monogomy bias and cisgender bias found in mainstream entertainment. And as a creative practoce for positive well being. Both sessions will start with a check-in, games , a break, more games (maybe scenes) and a check-out. Facilitated by The Growth House, a theatre company offering creative wellbeing workshops to residents in Selby and Scarborough. Guided by Peter Pearson (They/Them), professional performer and improviser who believes play is the opposite of anxiety. See you there!
