Join us to look at the macabre work of Edward Gorey, explore his unsettling stories, and examine his Victorian inspired ink drawings. As spooky season starts to creep in we'll take a look at the macabre work of Edward Gorey, explore his unsettling stories, and examine his Victorian inspired ink drawings. Bring along an old envelope from that dusty pile of ephemera you've collected over the years, and turn it into an entry for the Edward Gorey House Annual Envelope Art Contest. This year's theme is Utter Zoo, roughly translated to cranky creatures of the nonsensical variety. Don't forget to bring sketchbooks, paper, and your preferred drawing materials aswell. Free as always (but ticketed so we can plan numbers). Create cantankerous creatures in a cosy pub with your friendly fellow illustrators! About Drawvik Drawvik is a meet up group for illustrators in and around York and is part of the network of illustrator meet-ups supported by the AOI. Hosted by Becki Harper. Open to illustrators of all backgrounds and career stages. Drawvik is a supportive, lively hub to share inspirations, exercise some creative muscles and connect with like-minded folks.
