Discover the challenges and innovative technologies behind one of Hong Kong's most complex infrastructure projects at The Loop CIOB (Hong Kong Region) Exclusive Site Visit: The Lok Ma Chau Loop Summary: Join CIOB for an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to The Lok Ma Chau Loop, one of Hong Kong's most significant and technically complex development projects, currently being transformed into the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP). This site visit has been tailored for construction and built environment professionals, providing a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the planning, construction methodologies, and engineering solutions being applied on a large-scale infrastructure project. Participants will learn about the key technical, logistical, environmental, and cross-boundary challenges encountered throughout the development, and how the project team has overcome them through innovative thinking and modern construction practices. Topics will include: • Innovative construction and site formation methods • Major project challenges and lessons learned • Digital engineering and technology-enabled delivery • Sustainability and environmental considerations • Practical problem-solving approaches adopted by the project team • Insights that can be applied to future construction and infrastructure projects This is an excellent opportunity for CIOB members and built environment professionals to explore real-world examples of innovation, collaboration, and leadership in construction while networking with peers across the industry. Arrangements in Case of Inclement Weather Under the following inclement weather conditions, visit will be cancelled: Before the visit- If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above; or Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued and still in force 3 hours before the visit is scheduled to begin During the visit- If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above; or Red/Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued during the visit CIOB will decide to continue or suspend the visit depending on the weather or the actual situation of the visiting venue This learning activity can contribute to your annual CPD return and should be logged accordingly.
