Connections that Count 2026 – Networking with Purpose Breakthrough Cancer Research invites you to the second ever ‘Connections that Count’, a free business networking event in Cork City that combines professional collaboration, light activity, and inspiring insights.On Tuesday, October 13th, join fellow business leaders and entrepreneurs at AIB South Mall to build connections that matter for your business and for cancer research. Connections that Count is designed to bring Cork’s business community together to: • Meet new people and grow your network. • Build collaborations and discover opportunities. • Hear about Ireland and Cork's contribution to the revolution in cancer care. • Take away practical steps to reduce your cancer risk. The evening begins with a light 30-minute walk along Cork’s bridges taking in the newest City Developments, before returning to the iconic AIB Banking Hall for relaxed networking, refreshments, and perhaps a surprise guest or two. Orla Dolan, CEO of Breakthrough Cancer Research, will give a short talk on how Cork and Ireland are contributing to the revolution in cancer care and there will be lifestyle tips on lowering you cancer risk to take away. Light refreshments will be provided. The event will have a sign in at 5.30pm and all will be completed by 8pm. “The Connections that Counts event for Breakthrough Cancer Research was one of my favourite networking events. In addition to the traditional networking, nibbles and speeches, we went on a walk throughout Cork. This allowed a much more interactive, natural way to network. I was able to walk and chat with several different people/ small groups and because we were walking together, the conversation flowed.
