November Song Exchange - Cork

Join us in song in Cork City: All are welcome to join for a voice only exchange of songs. The Song Exchange is a voice-only singing circle, inspired by the Irish song sharing tradition and welcoming all genres and languages. No need for 'goodness', or performance: only open ears and enjoyment are needed. In the first half, each person has the chance to share a song and a brief story behind it, should they choose to. In the second half, we invite canons, rounds and simple songs to sing and harmonise together. This is a sharing and learning space, come with a willingness to sing. Please do your best to arrive on time as latecomers are disruptive to the singing. Ticket price includes tea and nibbles. The Song Exchange was started by Molly Garvey out of a love of the Irish song sharing tradition and the power of making sound together and is hosted in Cork by Leah Hearne and Daire Dillon. It builds on sessions of song exchanges held across the country of Ireland and beyond, a roaming, living thing. Find out more and join our community on instagram.
