Shakalak + The Leon Stax Equation

Shakalak couple lyrical dexterity with musical brilliance, and inspiring creativity and building community wherever they play! Shakalak are a 5-piece Dublin-based band who have built a dedicated cult following over the last number of years, coupling lyrical dexterity with musical brilliance, and inspiring creativity and building community wherever they play. "Cummins is the real deal; a curious, musical, staccato flow, and brilliantly nostalgic and visceral tales of festival, childhood, football and chippers." - The Irish Times on Shakalak frontman John Cummins. Their latest single Gimmy was released in December 2024 with an animated video made by Californian artist Madeleine Schmidt. “Some songs write themselves - we pick up what people and places are putting down. Gimmy is one of them. Anthemic, melodic, rhythmic. It is a hope-driven, introspective love letter.” - John Cummins, lead vocalist of Shakalak.
