Adult Drawing Workshop: Mapping Our Childhood Neighbourhood

Join artist Aileen Murphy for a drawing workshop for adults. This reflective drawing workshop led by artist Aileen Murphy will open with slow, grounding drawing exercises, before moving onto mapping out your childhood neighbourhood. Rather than focusing on geographic accuracy, these personal maps will be a way to explore, memory in an abstract way through line and colour and see where the marks take you. Maybe to places long forgotten..... • All welcome to this adult workshop; no experience is required. • Materials are provided but you are welcome to bring your own drawing materials. Aileen Murphy studied painting at NCAD, Dublin and Staedelschule, Frankfurt am main, Germany. Her drawings and large-scale paintings explore the body, humour, psychological states, and dreamlike imagery. This year she was awarded a three-year studio membership in Temple Bar Gallery + Studios. In September 2026, her work will be included in Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine, at Interface Inagh, Connemara, to coincide with the Clifden Arts Festival.
