Come join Áras Chrónáin for a cozy night of stories and songs with A Song For You Foundation! Áras Chrónáin presents A Song For You Foundation A Night of Story & Song for a good cause October 16, 2026, 8:30pm (8:00 doors) Born in the pandemic, A Song for You Foundation is a unique charity that provides healing and comfort to patients (and their loved ones) in hospice & hospital. Through personalized recorded songs, they honor the legacies patients leave behind while bringing the power of music to those in need whether in hospice, hospital, or home. Songs are also written for First responders & the health care workers who look after them. In the pandemic, over a time span of 18 months, Artists wrote, recorded, and shared over 175 songs--some covers, some originals, but most of which were personalized recorded songs, written from scratch, based on the stories of individual patients as told by their families, songs were also written to honor First Responders--including a staff as small as 150 healthcare workers in a hospice in NYC, to a song written for a healthcare system of 15,000 Nurses in Idaho at Christmas as a way to say thank you. Expanding beyond Covid 19 & following a most generous response from the community at large, including music, healthcare, & journalist communities, A Song For You Foundation is now its own 501c3 charity in NYC, writing for people across the country. Their story has been covered by outlets from ABC to NBC to NPR, CBS, Chicago Tribune and PEOPLE Magazine. In a few years time, they have attracted Grammy award-winning Artists & nominees, along with local, touring, and internationally awarded Artists to a simple mission of celebrating a person's life & legacy in song. They have been so grateful by the response to this project from the community, not just in the states but abroad as well, and with a particularly warm reception by communities throughout Ireland. Some of their favorite songs for this project have come from Irish Singer Songwriters- Paddy Casey, Mundy, Brian Farrell, & Saoirse Casey. A few years back, A Song For You Foundation put on its first Benefit Concert to a packed house at the Sugar Club, and are delighted to be back to play for Aras Chronain this October as a fundraiser, but more importantly, as a way to spread this mission further. This year as they go forward with their mission of keeping songs free to families, they look to grow their Artist Network and spread their mission even further to deepen its impact.
