Dark Ecstatic Dance: Dance Your Shadow

Join a Samhain-inspired journey through movement, music, body & self-expression. As we approach Samhain and the darker half of the year, we invite you to step into the darkness - not as something to fear, but as something to explore. This evening is an invitation to dance your shadow, reconnect with your body and meet the different parts of yourself with curiosity rather than judgement. Our shadow can include emotions, desires, anger, vulnerability, sensuality, power, fear or parts of ourselves that we have learned to hide or suppress. But we don't have to separate ourselves into “good” and “bad” parts. Instead, we invite you to let all your parts to exist, connect and be integrated. ⸻ 🌑 What will we do? We’ll begin by arriving in the space, grounding ourselves and setting a personal intention for the evening. Through body shaking, breath, free movement and music, we’ll gradually reconnect with the body and allow whatever wants to be expressed to come through. Different musical journeys will guide us through different emotional and energetic states, creating space to feel, move, release and integrate. You might move through anger, vulnerability, sensuality, fear, joy, power - or something that you cannot put into words. • No choreography. • No right or wrong way to dance. • No audience. Sometimes the most spontaneous movement (even the simplest or strangest dance) can become a powerful way to reconnect with yourself. Let your body lead. 🌿 Moving with the season Samhain marks a powerful transition in the Wheel of the Year - the beginning of the darker half of the year. Nature itself is slowing down, letting go and turning inward. We can use this seasonal transition as an invitation to do the same: to slow down, turn inward and gently integrate what has been coming to the surface. We move with the darkness rather than trying to escape it. ✨ The Evening 6:30 PM - Doors Open & Arrival (Face Painting Station available for a small fee) 7:00 PM - Opening & Intention Setting 7:15 PM - Grounding, Body Connection & Shamanic Drum 7:30 PM - Dark Ecstatic Dance 8:30 PM - Singing Bowls & Live Vocal Healing 8:50 PM - Integration & Closing 9:00 PM - End Dress Code & What to Bring: 🖤 Black clothing - festive, comfortable and easy to move in (mandatory for this special Samhain edition) 👁️ An eye mask - please make sure you bring one, as we’ll use it during the practice 💧 A bottle of water 🤍 A few things to remember: • This is an alcohol-free, judgement-free space. • You can go at your own pace - you can slow down, pause, sit, step outside or just observe whenever you need to. • There is no pressure to participate in anything that doesn’t feel right for you.
