Dublin meets Mosel

An evening with Dublin Concert Band and the International Mosel Valley Concert Band. Dublin Concert Band is delighted to present Dublin meets Mosel, an evening of the finest concert band music performed by DCB and the International Mosel Valley Concert Band. One of Ireland's leading community ensembles, the award-winning Dublin Concert Band will present a fizzing selection of music under the musical direction of Brendan Breslin. The International Mosel Valley Concert Band is visiting Dublin from the Saar-Obermosel region in Germany (famous for its excellent wines of course...) and are also of a very fine vintage! Making their Irish debut under the musical direction of Florian Weber, they are looking forward to sharing a varied selection of repertoire that combines traditional and more contempoary symphonic wind music. Tickets include a complimentary glass of Sarr-Obermosel wine for over 18s, or a non-alcoholic alternative. About International Mosel Valley Concert Band In 2012 several enthusiastic musicians from the Saar-Obermosel region came together with the aim of performing concert and sacred music as an ensemble. Their vision was, and continues to be, to organizs international concert tours with a focus on cultural exchange. Under the leadership of Dr. Friedbert Berens, and Arno Hoffmann, who also served as the orchestra’s first musical director, the “Förderverein Gemeinschaftsorchester (GO) Saar-Mosel” was founded in August 2012 as the supporting organisation of the concert band. The band has since grown to more than 80 musicians and is now fully established as a symphonic wind band. The band's repertoire ranges from traditional music to advanced level contemporary symphonic wind music. The band's first concert tour took us to Bangkok/Thailand in October 2013. The second concert tour led us to Turin/Italy in June 2015. The highlight was the world premiere of Missa Katharina, conducted personally by its composer, Jacob de Haan. This unforgettable experience remains a lasting memory for the musicians, choir members, and all participants. More recent concert tours have included a visit to the MID Europe Festival in Schladming/Austria in 2026, Manchester/UK in 2017, Berlin/Germany in 2018, Sicily in 2022 and Budapest/Hungary in 2024.
