Considered by many to be Madonna’s magnum opus, “Ray of Light” not only became an instant cult classic but it also forever redefined the boundaries of what a POP album could or should sound like. Home to some of the most brilliant and ground-breaking POP singles of the 1990’s (“Frozen”, “Drowned World/Substitute For Love” or “Nothing Really Matters”) the album remains immensely influential to this day. A flawless amalgamation of electronica, trip-hop, techno-pop, ambient, new age and house, it allowed Madonna to reach a new artistic zenith in her vibrant career and reunited her with some of her most cherished producers from her creative past: William Orbit, Patrick Leonard and Marius de Vries. Upon its release, “Ray of Light” received universal acclaim from music critics, who praised Madonna's musical reinvention, introspective songwriting, and mature vocal performances, as well as Orbit's innovative and cohesive production.
