Full description from organizer

A special Galway screening of GASLIT, the award-winning documentary with Academy Award-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda GASLIT : Galway Screening + Live Virtual Q&A Tues, 10 Nov 2026 | 7:00 pm - 9pm Colm Ó hEocha Theatre, Arts Millennium Building, University of Galway A special Galway screening of GASLIT, the award-winning documentary featuring Academy Award-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda, followed by a live virtual Q&A with the film crew. Travelling through the oil fields of West Texas and the Gulf Coast communities of Louisiana, Fonda meets the people living on the frontlines of the fossil fuel industry. From shrimpers and cattle ranchers to families, former oil and gas workers, and community organisers, GASLIT tells the stories of communities fighting to protect their homes, health and coastlines from the impacts of oil and gas extraction. The film examines the human and environmental costs of the expanding liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry, petrochemical production and plastic pollution, exposing the realities behind an industry driving climate change while placing enormous burdens on local communities. Europe & Ireland is expanding fossil gas. But far away from political meeting rooms, people are paying the price. In GASLIT, the new documentary from Greenpeace USA, award-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda goes to the heart of the US fossil gas boom. She meets families living with toxic air, communities in Cancer Alley, and people fighting to protect their land and health. While fossil fuel corporations grow richer and more powerful, frontline communities are treated as disposable. GASLIT exposes the human, environmental, and climate cost behind Europe’s energy choices.
