Full description from organizer

Join us for a seasonal food experience designed by chef Damien Martin followed by storytelling and music with Aindrias de Staic. Harvest Table is a seasonal five-course menu in which every ingredient has been grown, produced, or foraged in and around County Galway. Chef Damien Martin, whose career includes the Michelin-starred restaurants Loam and Nahm, has created the dishes with pastry chef Conor Cockram and Cian Mooney of Magpie Bakery. Each course is a chance to experience what’s possible from what is available locally, and to celebrate the producers and makers whose work and care bring it to our tables. Expect an evening of good food and conversation. The night closes with traditional storyteller Aindrias de Staic, accompanied by harpist Aisling Lyons. Their performance blends folklore, myth, music, and humour to draw us into the stories of the Irish landscape. Come hungry, come curious, leave nourished. Food Experience Damien Martin has honed his craft in some of the world’s most respected kitchens. His career includes time at Star Anise, a two‑hatted restaurant in Perth, and David Thompson’s Michelin‑starred Nahm in Bangkok, which reached 26th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Key member of Loam in Galway, a Michelin‑starred restaurant renowned for its commitment to local and seasonal Irish produce. He also leads Phi, a modern ready to heat dining experience rooted in plant forward cooking, seasonality and a gentler relationship with food. A particular passion of Damien’s is foraging and exploring Ireland’s natural landscape. His fascination with native wild plants, west coast shorelines and shifting seasons informs his creative approach to cooking, grounding it in seasonality, locality and restraint. https://www.phigalway.com/ Conor Cockram is a London-based pastry chef, educator, and culinary innovator whose work sits at the intersection of classical craftsmanship, modern food science, and creative design. Currently a Pastry Chef Lecturer at Le Cordon Bleu London, he teaches across core diploma curricula and advanced modules, specializing in modern patisserie, sensory and plating psychology, sustainable waste reduction, and technical ingredient functionality. His career bridges Michelin-starred fine dining and world-class craft, including full tenure at Per Se in New York, three years with master chocolatier Pierre Marcolini, and leading pastry operations at Loam in Galway, where he helped earn and maintain a Michelin Star. His background also includes stages at institutions such as Maaemo, The Ledbury, and Pierre Gagnaire’s Balzac, alongside hosting international dining showcases, including an event for dignitaries at the Irish Embassy in Tokyo. He is also a contributing pastry chef lecturer to the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Encyclopaedia published by Phaidon. Cian Mooney opened Magpie Bakery in May 2023. Located between Outset Art & Design Gallery and Charlie Byrne’s, Ireland’s best-loved independent bookshop, the small bakery makes everything from scratch on site every day and sources its ingredients as locally and ethically as possible. Its bread and pastries are made with organic flour, and its café serves organic milk and coffee. Magpie works with small local farmers and invites customers to bring in fruit to barter. The bakery hopes to use more Irish flour and already bakes with some Irish-grown and milled flour from The Little Mill. Each day it produces four or five naturally leavened breads and a range of sweet and savoury pastries. https://www.magpiebakery.ie/ Music & Storytelling Aindrias de Staic is an award-winning Irish seanchaí, musician, keynote-speaker and traditional artist whose work explores the intersection of traditional Irish storytelling, music and contemporary performance. Rooted in the oral traditions of Ireland, his practice draws on bardic poetry, folk-theatre, humorous narrative and the fiddle traditions of Clare and Mayo, creating performances in which rhythm, metre and music become integral to the telling of stories full of Wild Atlantic Wit. Aindrias comes from a rich lineage of traditional artists. His father, the renowned storyteller Eddie Stack, and his grandmother, the West Clare fiddle player Susan O'Sullivan, profoundly shaped his artistic path. Their legacy continues to be honoured through the annual Lahinch Trad Festival, celebrating the living traditions of storytelling and music. For more than two decades, Aindrias has created and toured original storytelling productions throughout Ireland and internationally, performing at theatres, festivals and cultural venues across Europe, Australia and North America, including the Edinburgh Fringe, the West End in London, Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris and TEDxGalway. His acclaimed productions blend folklore, bilingual storytelling in Irish and English, live music and humour, making ancient narrative traditions accessible to contemporary audiences.
