Course runs on each Wed in Oct Fundamentals of Sewing - Sewing for Beginners This 4-week course is aimed at those who want to learn how to use a sewing machine and make simple garments. This short course is designed to cover the basic techniques used in sewing and simplify the steps in making up basic garments by concentrating on each technique rather than making individual garments. In this course we will cover ⦁ hand stitches, threading, and using a sewing machine ⦁ facings and bound edges ⦁ Closures –simple zips and button loops ⦁ measuring up, reading a pattern, and cutting out In the final class, we will make up a quarter scale A-line dress • Each class is 2.5 hours long • Attendees will need their own sewing machine • All other materials provided.
