The Reds at Houndswood Farm

Houndswood Farm are delighted to present the incredible harmonies and rhythms of The Reds Bluegrass band followed by Swamp Stomp DJ set Houndswood Farm are delighted to present the Reds and Swamp Stomp DJ set, this promises to be an exciting night in a very unique venue. Houndswood Farm are Mark and Louise who earlier this year had their wedding on the farm. Alot of work went into turning the sheds into the perfect venue. We thought recently that it would be such a pity to disassemble the venue for lambing season next year without using it again for a community event and so the idea for a gig was hatched! The sheds that the gig are quite sealed to prevent drafts etc so will ne comfortable for the gig. The gig will primarily be standing but there will be seats provided around by the edges for those with dodgy knees, there will be also some bales of hay that can be fashioned into seats!! There will be a field set aside just to the back of the sheds with a roadway into it where cars can be parked and left overnight no problem at all for those who happen to have too much fun!! The field is mown with a tractor so the grass will be short but please wear appropriate footwear. There will be a light tower providing light for those coming to and from their cars. There will be a number of toilets on site including portaloos and two proper toilets in a building right next to the sheds. There will be refreshments being served as well with payment of cash or card both accepted. We are putting the tickets down as free on Eventbrite just so we can get a handle on numbers and know exactly how many are coming but we would ask for a contribution of €20 per person at the door to help cover the costs of putting this on. Following The Reds is Swamp Stomp DJ aka Conor Nolan, a master with a dizzying collection of vinyl. He will be playing Cajun, Rockabilly, Old Timey, African, Reggae and World Music so it promises to be an eclectic end to an amazing evening. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
