Road to Edge: Backroad Southern Indian Farm Caravan

Join Ashu (@thelostmonk) and Morello (@morellomunch) on an intimate road trip through 5+ remarkable farms and eco villages across Southern India, starting in Bangalore and ending in Goa in time for Day 1 of Edge City India. On this caravan: You’ll travel through farms, ecovillages, indigenous communities and coastal villages that reveal a more authentic India — one shaped by land, food, water, rituals, community and old wisdom You’ll share farm-to-table meals, meet people who have lived with these landscapes for generations, join hands-on workshops, surf, kayak, practice yoga, sit in circles, and travel with a small group of people who are also curious about regenerative living and future communities. You’ll also become part of a travel story documenting India’s farms, villages and living communities on the road to Edge City. Confirmed 11-Day Plan Day 1 — Bangalore → MadikeriWelcome brunch, then depart Bangalore Creative Circus around noon. Arrive Madikeri for dinner at a private, off-grid farmstay on the region's highest mountain range. Day 2 — MadikeriFull day at Beforest, a forest-collective community building shared, regenerative land. Session on community living and how to build one, full collective tour, plus open time for peer-to-peer session shares. Day 3 — MadikeriCoffee and spice plantation tour — coffee economics, varietals, tasting, lunch on-site. Afternoon: traditional community visit and wild honey hunting (season permitting), then time with the Kodava tribe, learning their agriculture and way of life. Day 4 — Madikeri → Varanashi FarmDrive to Varanashi Farm. Farm tour covering permaculture, organic farming, water management, and regenerative agriculture, plus a visit to India's oldest cacao plantation. Lighter evening — travel day. Day 5 — Varanashi FarmSunrise kayaking on Karnataka's backwaters, a working paddy farm, and the chocolate plantations. Session on soil biology, organic fertilizers, and microbial cultures. Afternoon: a neighboring farm's water-management system, with a local legend who's spent 30+ years digging water trenches. Day 6 — Varanashi FarmHands-on chocolate-making workshop, a content creation workshop (peer support on posting and social media), open "each one teach one" time for anyone who wants to lead a session, and a closing cacao ceremony. Day 7 — Varanashi Farm → GokarnaA full road-trip day along a sacred coastal route, with stops along the way. Beach time on arrival, then evening at the ashram — known for yoga nidra — where we'll be staying. Day 8 — GokarnaMorning yoga, havan/yagna, and a yoga nidra session with the ashram's teachers — learning the philosophy and daily life of a spiritual community. Visit 4th-century temples. Day 9 — Gokarna → DandeliArrive at Jungli Nomad Village, a hidden co-living community on 150 forested acres. Campus tour, meals with the founders and local nature entrepreneurs doing regenerative work. Day 10 — DandeliCo-working, peer-to-peer workshops, group content creation, a visit to the nature park, and closing ceremony. Day 11 — Dandeli → Mandrem, GoaFinal brunch together, then on to Goa.
