Dedicated to the legendary bassist Jean-François Jenny-Clark, In Spirit is performed on Jenny-Clark's historic double bass. Built around a unique open tuning, the work has been praised for its emotional depth, originality, and spiritual intensity. After the intermission, the stage welcomes Poetic Power, founded in 2019. Alongside Tchamitchian, the trio features two leading figures of French jazz: saxophonist Christophe Monniot and drummer Eric Echampard. Their music combines strong compositional structures, free improvisation, and a poetic, airy sound. A renowned double bassist, composer, and founder of the Emouvance record label, Claude Tchamitchian is one of the most distinctive voices in French jazz. Since his first Vapaat äänet tour in 1996, he has visited Finland nearly twenty times as a guest of festivals and concert tours.
