4th Annual International Symposium on Sex Therapy

The 4th Annual International Symposium on Sex Therapy will take place May 17–19, 2027, in Rome, Italy. The 4th Annual International Symposium on Sex Therapy will convene in Rome, Italy, for three days of focused scholarly exchange, advanced clinical dialogue, and international professional engagement. Building on the growth and momentum of previous symposia, the 2027 gathering is organized around a clear and timely mandate. This year’s theme is: Standards in Practice: Clinical Excellence in Psychosexual Therapy. The symposium will explore how the field can strengthen professional expectations across education, ethics, research, and clinical practice. As psychosexual therapy continues to expand globally, questions surrounding training quality, professional accountability, evidence-informed care, and ethical consistency have become increasingly urgent. This symposium provides a structured forum for clinicians, educators, researchers, and organizational leaders to critically examine what constitutes best practice in psychosexual therapy and how professional standards can be responsibly developed, maintained, and implemented across diverse clinical, cultural, and regulatory contexts. As the Call for Papers is now open, we welcome submissions that engage with contemporary issues shaping the field of psychosexual therapy. Contributions may be presented in the form of peer-reviewed papers, posters, clinical demonstrations, or panel discussions, and should address topics that advance professional standards within the discipline. Suggested areas of focus include advanced clinical formulation, ethical decision-making in complex cases, standards for training and supervision, professional certification and credentialing, and the evolving identity of psychosexual therapy as a global profession. Submissions that reflect interdisciplinary perspectives, cross-cultural considerations, and emerging research relevant to the advancement of psychosexual therapy are especially welcome. Hosted in the culturally rich and historic city of Rome, just minutes from the Colosseum, the symposium offers not only rigorous academic and clinical programming, but also meaningful opportunities for professional connection, collaboration, and collegial exchange. Whether you are an established practitioner, an educator shaping the next generation of therapists, or a clinician seeking deeper specialization, the 4th Annual International Symposium on Sex Therapy invites you to participate in a global conversation committed to clinical excellence, ethical integrity, and the continued evolution of psychosexual therapy as a profession.
