This award-winning event is back, better than ever, with free admission for all. Dive into a day of fun and learning with engaging exhibits for all ages. Did you ever wonder where that dirty water from your toilet, sink and bathtub goes? Wastewater from your homes and businesses is collected through sewer pipes and eventually makes its way to ALCOSAN’s treatment plant on the Pittsburgh’s Northside. At our annual Open House, you can learn about wastewater collection, flow and treatment, and how we recycle that dirty water into clean water that’s deposited into the Ohio River. Discover our initiatives for the Clean Water Plan and witness the ongoing construction of our treatment plant. Come rain or shine, it's going to be a fantastic day of education and entertainment. From the Plant Expansion to the Regional Tunnel System, we are excited to share our progress and what the future holds. To show our gratitude for your attendance, enjoy a complimentary lunch!
