CBK-hosted session in Nairobi runs two hours with 30 seats.

Full description from organizer

The CBK gave boards until 7 November. Most can’t list the AI they already run. Two hours, 30 seats, one page you can take to your board. ▶ Reserve now at www.drikhalia-cyberbootcamp.com. 30 seats. When they are gone, they are gone. Picture a board meeting in Nairobi next month. A director asks a simple question: “How many AI systems do we actually run?” Someone says “the chatbot”. Nobody mentions the fraud model that blocks transactions at 2am. Or the credit scoring engine. Or the CV screening tool HR bought last year. Or the two hundred staff with ChatGPT open in another tab right now, pasting customer data into it. That question is about to get asked in every boardroom in Kenya. The Central Bank of Kenya’s draft AI Guidance Note closes for comment on 7 November. Once it lands, boards must approve an AI strategy, an AI policy, a data governance framework and an AI risk framework. High-risk systems need sign-off before they go live. Agentic AI is high-risk by default. The Data Protection Act already gives every customer the right to challenge a decision a machine made about them. The AI Bill is in the Senate. Three laws are converging on one question, and the people who will be asked to answer it are reading this page. ▶ This is the room where you get the answer first. On Saturday 31 October, 30 risk, technology and compliance leaders sit down for two hours at The Social House Nairobi. No two-hour lecture. We work through your organisation, your systems, your exposure. ▶ You walk out with: The list. A fast method to find every AI system your organisation runs, including the ones nobody registered The page. A one-page AI governance structure you can put in front of your board or risk committee on Monday The answer. What “high-risk” actually means in the CBK draft, and which of your systems it catches The explanation. What Section 35 of the Data Protection Act forces you to be able to say when a customer asks “why was I declined?” The response. How to file a consultation comment before 7 November so the final rules reflect how your business works The room. Thirty peers across banking, insurance, fintech, telecoms, health and public bodies, all facing the same deadline ▶ Who is in the room Chief risk officers. Heads of compliance. CIOs and CTOs. Data protection officers. Internal audit leads. Board members who want to ask the right question before someone else asks it of them. If your job title contains the word risk, data, technology, compliance or director, this session was built for you. ▶ Who leads it Dr Joseph Ikhalia holds a PhD in Computer Science and leads information security governance for an international financial services group, where AI governance is not a slide but a quarterly board paper. He founded Dr Ikhalia Cyber Bootcamp to train the people who have to sign their name at the bottom of the page. ▶ The details Saturday 31 October 2026, 10:00am to 12:00pm The Social House Nairobi, 154 James Gichuru Road, Lavington 30 seats.
