BioPhoT Conference 2026

On 29 October, the “BioPhoT” Conference will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, investors, and policymakers at the University of Latvia (UL) House of Science. The conference aims to highlight the achievements and next steps of the “BioPhoT” innovation projects, as well as to discuss how scientific excellence can be transformed into innovations with global potential. One of the conference’s central themes will be the journey of technology development from the laboratory to the market, exploring the key challenges and opportunities involved in technology commercialisation. The programme will feature discussions on the achievements and lessons learned from innovation projects supported by the “BioPhoT” platform, as well as on cooperation between science and industry. Panel discussions will focus particularly on the key stages and challenges researchers and teams face when transferring scientific ideas into industry and the market. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore prototypes developed so far within the platform’s projects, learn about their practical applications and development potential, and discover opportunities for collaboration with research teams. A special part of the conference will be dedicated to an exhibition showcasing technologies developed by “BioPhoT” teams, along with presentations highlighting their achievements, practical applications, and opportunities for future collaboration. Viens no konferences centrālajiem tematiem būs tehnoloģiju attīstības ceļš no laboratorijas līdz tirgum, aplūkojot būtiskākos izaicinājumus un iespējas tehnoloģiju komercializācijā. Dienas programmā paredzētas diskusijas par “BioPhoT” platformas atbalstīto inovāciju projektu sasniegumiem un gūtajām atziņām, kā arī par zinātnes un industrijas sadarbību Latvijā. Paneļdiskusijās īpaša uzmanība tiks pievērsta būtiskākajiem posmiem un izaicinājumiem, ar kuriem pētnieki un komandas saskaras, pārnesot zinātniskās idejas industrijā un tirgū. Apmeklētāji klātienē varēs iepazīt līdz šim platformas projektu ietvaros izstrādātos prototipus, to praktisko pielietojumu un attīstības potenciālu, kā arī uzzināt par iespējām veidot sadarbību ar zinātnieku komandām. Īpaša vieta konferencē būs atvēlēta “BioPhoT” programmas komandu izstrādāto tehnoloģiju ekspozīcijai. Paredzētas arī “BioPhoT” atbalstīto komandu prezentācijas par sasniegumiem un nākotnes sadarbības iespējām.
