This time, we're slowing things down and taking on a shorter, scenic trail surrounded by lush greenery, peaceful surroundings, and the sounds of nature. Expect a refreshing morning outdoors, a beautiful waterfall, and plenty of opportunities to pause, take photos, and enjoy the scenery together. As always, Wavey hikes are about more than just the destination. They're about meeting new people, stepping outside your usual routine, and discovering Mauritius differently. Whether you're joining solo or with friends, you'll be welcomed into a supportive, community-led group where conversations happen naturally and everyone is encouraged to enjoy the journey together. 🌿 Hike Details Location: Rioux Waterfall, Mauritius • Date: Saturday, 7th November 2026 • Meet-up: 7:30 AM • Meeting point: Winners Forest Side (exact pin location will be shared closer to the day) • Distance: Approximately 3.5–4 km (return) • Elevation gain: Approximately 100–120 m (cumulative) • Duration: 7:30–11:30 AM for the full experience, including the post-hike social. The hike takes approximately 1.5–2 hours (including time to enjoy the waterfall). • Difficulty: Easy, with one technical section. The rest of the trail is predominantly flat. Please note: While this is considered an easy hike, there is one technical section that requires extra care and attention. Proper footwear with good grip is essential. 🎒 What to Bring To make this experience smooth, safe, and enjoyable for everyone, please come prepared. Essentials • Minimum 1.5L of water per person • A light snack (banana, nuts, energy bar, etc.) • Eat something light before arriving — please don't hike on an empty stomach • A small backpack to keep your hands free Please note: Tote bags, handbags, and shoulder bags are not recommended as they can be unsafe on uneven terrain. Clothing • Comfortable sportswear • Proper hiking or trail shoes with good grip (no sandals) • Light rain jacket (Mauritian weather can change quickly) • A light layer or windbreaker if needed Sun Protection • Cap or hat • Sunscreen • Sunglasses • Insect repellent Personal Care • Any personal medication you may need • Please inform us in advance of any medical conditions or injuries that may affect your participation. What's Included? • A guided group hike with an experienced Wavey hiking guide • A welcoming, community-led experience • Time to explore and enjoy the waterfall with the group Important Information For your safety and the safety of the group: • Please arrive at 7:30 AM for the group briefing. • Wear appropriate footwear with good grip. • Bring enough water to stay hydrated throughout the hike. • Please come well-rested and not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or with a hangover. • Although the majority of the trail is flat, there is one technical section requiring additional care. • The experience is weather-dependent.
