The Audiobook Club's Inaugural Event

An evening of great conversation, connection and food with like-minded book fans! What is the Audiobook Club? The Audiobook Club is Singapore's first book club using audiobooks. It turns your dead time — traffic on the PIE, folding laundry, your evening walk — into story time. Books that fit in your ears and your schedule. No physical copy to lug around. No guilt about a stack of unread paperbacks judging you from the nightstand. No nerves attending a book club that you didn't have time to finish the book for. We pick the audiobook. You press play whenever, wherever. Then four times a year, we all show up — properly, in person — to talk about it over good food. The Audiobook for our First Event In this event, we'll be sharing our responses to Meg Mason's incredible book Sorrow and Bliss. To get the most out of the event please have listened to the book in advance. All you have to do is find the book on Audible or any of your fave audiobook providor and listen to the book before the event on November 2nd. Just order from Casa Clava's menu for your own food and drink. About the Organiser Hi, I'm Simone Heng— the founder of The Audiobook Club. I've spent years researching, speaking and writing about human connection, and one thing keeps coming up: we're all craving real, in-person time with like-minded people — we just don't always have the hours to make it happen. I love books and good writing. In fact, I wrote a book myself all about our search for connection. I built this club because I saw that women at middle age really struggle to carve out time for connection beyond their families. So bring your besties to our meet ups and catch up with them at the same time too. Directons to the Event The event will be held inside Jiak Kim by Casa Clava, a private members club. The room is The Lounge. You will see the signage to Fraser Residence River Promenade and Warehouse on River Promenade. We will have signage out the front.
