MTCP CLIMATE TECHNOLOGY & ENERGY TRANSITION FORUM

A strategic forum connecting policy, industry and technology to advance resource security, energy transition and sustainable urban futures. The Climate Technology & Energy Transition Forum 2026, held as part of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and experts to exchange perspectives on key issues shaping the transition towards a sustainable and resilient future. The forum features three strategic conversations across the energy and technology value chain. The Upstream session explores resource security, with a focus on policy pathways for rare earth elements and advanced materials. The Midstream session examines new energy, hydrogen and grid readiness in supporting the energy transition. The Downstream session focuses on the urban ecosystem, exploring smart cities, mobility and decarbonisation. Through these interconnected discussions, the forum aims to encourage knowledge exchange, strengthen collaboration and provide participants with practical insights into how policy, technology and industry can collectively support a secure, competitive and low-carbon future.
