Antifragility

An engaging, interactive discussion of how antifragility can transform how we view personal growth. Antifragility There are many beautiful lenses through which we can view personal growth. One centers on moral character: developing virtues, discipline, honesty, and so on. Another focuses on achievement - of one's goals or something bigger - life purpose, vision, design. Add to this a more "spiritual" lens: growth is about becoming more aligned with one’s deeper self. There is, however, a completely different way to approach personal growth - as a form of antifragility. Antifragility is not just the opposite of being brittle - it also contrasts with being robust. This can strike us as a little weird - isn't robustness a component of growth? In this Philosophy Salon, we will explore this new lens to look at self-growth and find new insights about how we can transform ourselves. Meeting Information Doors open at 18:45 and close at 19:10. Please be on time! We won't be able to accommodate attendees arriving after 19:10. Philosophy Salons The Philosophy Salons are gatherings of curious people to explore big ideas with an open mind. The Philosophy Salons were created by Anya, a philosopher of mind based in Amsterdam. We dive deep into beliefs and ideas, dive out, and have fun along the way!
