Total Defense, Quantum Readiness and Trustworthy Technologies - request to join to select your session(s)

This is not a day of conventional presentations. We bring together people who own critical problems with people who can help solve them – from critical infrastructure, public authorities and preparedness environments to research, technology companies and investors. The programme moves from crisis and preparedness, through one of the most significant technology transitions ahead of us, to the technologies, collaboration and investment needed to strengthen resilience. Scenario X – Total Defence in a new security landscape What happens when a disruption crosses the boundaries between government, business and critical infrastructure? Scenario X puts collaboration under pressure. Through a developing scenario and discussion, we will explore what Total Defence requires from the private sector, what businesses need from authorities, and where coordination can break down when a real crisis unfolds. The conversation will address practical barriers such as responsibilities, information sharing, procurement, funding, risk and organisational culture – and what stronger public-private and civil-military collaboration requires in practice. Quantum Readiness for Critical Infrastructure Quantum readiness is not simply a future technology issue. For organisations operating long-lived infrastructure, it is already a question of migration, business continuity, dependencies and trust. Together with leaders and experts from critical infrastructure, authorities, research and technology, we will examine what organisations need to know about their cryptographic dependencies, suppliers and legacy systems; how post-quantum migration can take place while critical services remain operational; and how trust can be maintained and verified throughout a transition that may take years. The session is centred on a practical question: What should organisations have completed by the end of 2027 to demonstrate credible quantum readiness? Public-Private Collaboration and Innovation in Total Defense Why is it important? AI is being integrated with information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) used to monitor and control physical systems and infrastructure. How can we trust systems and infrastructure that are being integrated with AI? Europe has a unique combination of expertise in secure IT-OT integration and privacy-enhancing technologies, which are key to securing data across systems and building trust in AI. Demand for AI Assurance technology is growing 3x faster than the overall market for AI. European AI Assurance businesses should more than double their revenue each year just to keep pace with market growth. Securing our society and critical infrastructure while building leaders in Trustworthy Tech is a win-win. So what's the hold up? There is a clear need for solutions to increase resilience within municipal and critical sectors and Europe is working to standardize public R&D procurement. We will discuss how public-private and civil-military collaboration can accelerate innovation and enable Nordic businesses and R&D centers to become leaders in Trustworthy Tech. Investing in Trustworthy Tech The final part of the day connects security and resilience with the investment perspective. What makes a technology relevant and credible for critical infrastructure? How should investors think about trustworthy technology, dual-use capabilities, and security? And what will it take for Nordic technologies addressing real societal and infrastructure needs to develop, scale and reach the organisations that need them? We will bring together technology, industry and investment perspectives to explore where security, resilience and Nordic growth opportunities intersect. What will you take away? You should leave the day with a clearer understanding of the decisions organisations need to address now – not only the risks that may emerge later. You will meet people working with the same challenges from different perspectives, compare approaches across sectors, and identify areas where collaboration makes more sense than solving the same problems organisation by organisation. The day will also create opportunities to continue the work after Oslo Innovation Week through focused working sessions, readiness discussions, pilot opportunities and cross-sector collaboration. This is consistent with the quantum programme’s explicit aim to move from understanding the problem to concrete collaboration after the event. Who is behind the event? The day is organised by the TrustNet business network, VentureNet, Naoris Nordic, Viljr, and Ræder Bing Advokatfirma, together with contributors and partners from research, industry, critical infrastructure, the public sector, technology and investment environments.
