Big Laughs for Joseph - A Fundraising Comedy Night at Poppys

Did someone say the 2026 Billy T Award winner and two 2027 Billy T nominees? Did someone say the musical talents and stylings of Tough Tiger Fist? That's right! Poppys Comedy is bringing together some serious talent for a special two-hour fundraising comedy showcase, packed with laughs, music and a whole lot of aroha! Saturday 14 November 2026 R18 Event | Two-Hour Show | Short Interval So, what's the occasion? Joseph Malele is at it again! After another outstanding year of debating, this talented young student from De La Salle College has been selected to attend SEAMUN 2027 (Southeast Asia Model United Nations) in Thailand this coming January. And he's no stranger to international opportunities! Joseph was previously part of the De La Salle College Debate Team's journey towards the 2026 World International Model United Nations Conference in New York. Poppys Comedy reckon that's something worth getting behind! So we're doing what we do best. Bringing people together through comedy, kai and community, while helping a young South Auckland talent pursue his dreams. Every ticket sold helps Joseph on his journey to Thailand. What to expect on the night Two hours of comedy, music and plenty of laughs, featuring some seriously talented performers. We'll have a short interval halfway through the show, giving everyone a chance to stretch their legs, visit the wharepaku, catch up with others and get ready for the second half. And of course, there'll be kai! Two ways to support the kaupapa General Admission – $25 Grab a ticket, come along, enjoy the comedy, music and kai, and help us send Joseph to Thailand! Can't Make It? Our kaupapa is simple: Comedy. Kai. Community. Come for the comedy. Stay for the kai. Be part of the community. Poppys Comedy is a small, intimate comedy space right here in South Auckland, run from our home. We bring together comedians and audiences for a night of laughter, followed by kai and kōrero, where everyone gets a chance to connect. It's more than just a comedy show. It's about bringing people together, sharing a laugh, sharing some kai and building community. Whether you're joining us for the laughs or supporting from afar, every contribution helps us get Joseph one step closer to Thailand. Grab your ticket, bring your aroha and let's get behind this young South Auckland talent!
