Full description from organizer

A fundraising breakfast for sustainability professionals Mental Health Awareness Week | 15 October 2026 | 8.30am to 10am | SBN event space Let's be honest. Working in sustainability right now is hard and we all need a breather. The polycrisis isn't going anywhere. Climate goals are being wound back. And if you're someone who spends your days trying to help the world do better, you're probably carrying more than you let on. We've been hearing this from our network lately, so for Mental Health Awareness Week, we're hosting a breakfast for connection and reflection whilst raising funds for the Mental Health Foundation along the way. Dr Niki Harré is a professor of community psychology at the University of Auckland, where she's spent over a decade researching the psychology of sustainability and what keeps people motivated in the face of a challenge this size. She's the author of 'Psychology for a Better World' and 'The Infinite Game', and has spent her career helping people find hope, belonging and the energy to keep going. Ursula Griffen is the co-founder of REMiND, a mindfulness and workplace wellbeing provider. With a background in ecology, permaculture and regenerative practice, she's spent her career at the intersection of sustainability, wellbeing and communications. She knows firsthand how easy it is for people doing this work to run themselves into the ground. In the morning, she'll lead a mindfulness practice and explore how it can support you in your own work. This is a chance to sit with what you're carrying, connect with people who get it and leave with something real to hold on to, whether that's a tool, a moment of calm or just the reminder that you're not doing this alone. Every ticket is a donation to the Mental Health Foundation, supporting a society where everyone enjoys positive mental health and wellbeing, so you're taking care of yourself and something bigger at the same time. Spaces are limited. Book early. Tea, coffee and a light breakfast will be provided.
