Drawing inspiration from her home on the Tawharanui Peninsula, Rachael brings a personal touch to these intimate new paintings, many featuring flowers grown in her own garden. Expressive colour, gestural brushwork and occasional touches of 24-carat gold leaf bring her subjects to life, balancing recognisable forms with the freedom of abstraction. There is a quiet luminosity to these works, where fleeting details and familiar surroundings become opportunities to explore the possibilities of paint. This Pocket Exhibition offers a closer look at Rachael’s practice, revealing the beauty and complexity found in the natural world and the places we call home. Discover a collection that invites you to pause, look again and experience familiar subjects through a fresh perspective.
