Foraging Wild Weeds

Want to eat wild? Enhance your skills, turning delicious and nutritious weeds and flowers from your garden and local area into free food. Connecting with your weeds transforms how you see your garden, what you put on your plate, and why you should make the change. Join Julie from Oak and Thistle to learn how to utilise some of the common and safe-to-eat weeds in the Ōrewa Community Garden. This workshop is a perfect match for the sauerkraut workshop to take your ferments a step further. No equipment needed, only your keen ability to touch and taste as you learn. Julie Craig is an experienced wildcrafter who weaves together all of the workshops in the apothecary and sound room experiences. Everything from food initiatives, brewing, foraging, medicinal elixirs, soaps, and all types of ferments. Trained in sound therapy and horticultural practices, Julie is an engaging teacher who cares deeply about the well-being of her participants, believing that fostering strong communities through bartering, sharing, and teaching are an imperative part of life.
